Know Before You Commit
Important behavioral traits that potential owners should understand:
Dit is de meest voorkomende gedragsmatige struikelsteen voor het ras. Cavapoos zijn een mix van twee 'kleefhonden': de Cavalier King Charles Spaniël (gefokt om op schoot te zitten) en de Poedel (gefokt om nauw samen te werken met handlers). Het resultaat is een hond die het vaak moeilijk heeft alleen te zijn. Eigenaren melden regelmatig panikeren, destructief kauwen en besmeuren van het huis wanneer de hond zelfs maar korte perioden alleen wordt gelaten (1-2 uur). Als u 8 uur per dag van huis bent voor werk, is dit ras waarschijnlijk niet compatibel met uw levensstijl zonder dure kinderopvang.
De belofte van 'weinig onderhoud' is een mythe. De mix van Poedelkrullen en Cavalier-zijde creëert vaak een vacht die vlak op de huid klit als deze niet grondig (lijngewijs) 3-4 keer per week wordt geborsteld.
