Where can the dog be off leash?
Beatrixpark is in Amsterdam-Zuid, next to the RAI. The park opened in 1938. Dogs can be off leash in a large part of it, not in the whole park.
Dogs are not allowed along the large pond, at the paddling pool, or in the herb garden. Keep the leash on around the pond, along the palisades, and under the chestnut trees. In the rest of the designated area the dog can be off leash. The signs and the municipality dog map show the boundary.

Is it safe for my dog?
The water’s edge is not a swimming spot for dogs. The municipality has warned that the bank protection can have sharp edges under the surface. Do not let a dog jump in there.
Can I get around there too?
Barbecues are not allowed. There is a public toilet at the paddling pool.
There is somewhere to eat or drink nearby. The venue decides whether a dog is welcome on the terrace.
There is a path a wheelchair can use.

What if there is no sign?
Keep the dog on a leash. Off leash is only allowed on the part the manager has designated.
Who decides which part that is?
The manager of the place. The signs on site overrule this page.
Do I have to pick up?
Yes, including in an off-leash area, unless a sign there says you do not have to.
