Isla is a small for the breed, Australian shepherd. She was originally meant to be a farm dog in Ohio but due to no fault of her own had to be rehomed. I drove down from Michigan to pick her up in 2015 and we have been by each other's side ever since. We have moved several times across the US and ultimately landed in sunny San Diego where we have called home for the past several years. Isla may be a "senior" dog but her active lifestyle and healthy diet keep her acting like a puppy. Whenever we meet new people they are shocked when I tell them she's almost 10 years old because she doesn't look or act it. While we don't have a backyard to play in, you can catch us outside at the beach, in the desert, or in the mountains. We love getting dirty and are actively hiking, camping, and overlanding. We do as much as we can to live a fun, fulfilled life with this finite time we have together so we make the best of it.
