In 2024, 390,000 dogs were euthanized in the US, and this is the highest number in the past five years. (Shelter Animals Count Database, 2025) Overall, euthanasia is on the rise, which is why we established Homebound Hounds. We are a California-based dog rescue on a mission to save, foster, and find forever homes for at-risk dogs.
